April 15, 2012
Team USA's women started the 2012 World Senior Championships on a winning note this afternoon at the Taarnby Curling Club near Copenhagen, Denmark.

Pam Oleinik (Brookfield, Wis.) and her team of Laurie Rahn (Lake Forest, Ill.), Stephanie Martin (Barrington, Ill.) and Julie Denten (Northbrook, Ill.) defeated Ireland's Marie O'Kane rink, 8-4, as the weeklong competition began. Team USA started with four points in the opening end and never looked back.

"Fantastic. We're happy to have the one game behind us, we can settle down now, get the nerves off and just enjoy it. It was a good game," Oleinik said after the win.
