USA earns win number five in Latvia

March 20, 2013
The USA ladies are taking care of business at the 2013 Titlis Glacier Mountain World Women’s Curling Championship. Erika Brown led Team USA to a lopsided 9-2 victory this morning over host Latvia at the Volvo Sports Center.

Brown (Oakville, Ontario) and teammates Debbie McCormick (Rio, Wis.), Jessica Schultz (Richfield, Minn.) and Ann Swisshelm (Chicago) have outscored their last two opponents, 19-5, and the Americans improved to 5-3 in the round robin standings.

“Today we just made a lot of precision shots and put the rocks in really tough places. Latvia was forced to make some really difficult shots in the early ends and came up a little bit short,” Brown said.
