American ladies get big win over Japan

March 20, 2013
Erika Brown and Team USA kept the playoffs in their sights with a pivotal round robin win over Japan at the 2013 Titlis Glacier Mountain World Women's Curling Championship.

Brown (Oakville, Ontario) and teammates Debbie McCormick (Rio, Wis.), Jessica Schultz (Richfield, Minn.) and Ann Swisshelm (Chicago) capitalized on key mistakes by Japan's Satsuki Fujisawa rink to cruise to a 10-3 victory tonight at the Volvo Sports Center.

"Japan's a great team and we respect them. It's a great win for us. It feels good to get ahead and keep the lead. We're looking forward to the next game and will keep plugging along," said three-time Olympian McCormick.
